2004 Russian River Reserve Chardonnay
WINEMAKER'S NOTES
The cool climate of the Russian River Valley contributes
to Simi’s Burgundian-style
Reserve Chardonnay. The influence of the Pacific Ocean gives the Russian River
Valley a long, extended and very moderate growing season. Perfectly situated
within the heart of the Russian River Valley , Simi’s Goldfields vineyard
is close enough to the coast to receive the benefits of the cool fog and inland
enough to ensure the vineyard will get the degree days that allow the Chardonnay
to ripen to perfection.
The 2004 vintage incorporates notes of tropical fruit and
vanilla accented by notes of spice and honey. Mango, peach and pineapple
lead to a full-bodied and complex finish.
