The grapes for the 2011 SIMI Alexander Valley Chardonnay come from some of the oldest Chardonnay vines we’ve ever seen, and the fruit is super concentrated with pineapple, guava and citrus. The wine was 100% barrel fermented (10% new, 90% one year old barrels), and did not go through Malolactic fermentation. From experience, we know it shows best with its acid intact, it’s soft and viscous enough without the secondary fermentation. We hope you enjoy this warm, bright and merry chardonnay. It’s a perfect bright spot for the winter ahead.
